Award-winning film producer based in Nepal

Ram Krishna Pokharel is an Emmy Award-winning international film producer from Nepal and the founder of Icefall Productions, established in 2009 in Kathmandu. A Film Studies graduate from Tribhuvan University, he has over a decade of experience producing award-winning feature and short films that have represented Nepal on the global stage.

His work has been officially selected at prestigious film festivals including Venice, Berlinale, Busan, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Palm Springs, APSA, and Raindance, with several films selected as Nepal’s Official Entry to the Academy Awards (Oscars).

He is best known for first Nepali to receive the Emmy Award-winning film A Mountain to Climb (2017) and is the first Nepali producer to participate in the EAVE Producers Workshop with a CNC (France) scholarship. His projects have been invited to leading international platforms such as Cannes Cinéfondation L’Atelier, Locarno Open Doors, and Film Bazaar Goa.

Through Icefall Productions, he actively collaborates across Asia and Europe, championing bold debut voices and authentic regional stories with global relevance.
